simple joys
(12.37pm, saturday)
maybe it isnt even substitution. today i woke up thinking that it had all been a fancy dream but im glad i woke. finally.
im enjoying the simple joys of life - like spending a friday evening eating chilli crab with my folks makes us all happy.

i used to think that most people spend more than half their lives chasing after fortune, trying to be successful when their definition of success isnt accurate. success doesnt necessarily equate to fame and wealth. i am beginning to think that maybe a wholesome fulfilling life is what everyone is after, even for the never-contented rich and famous. being wealthy only constitutes part of the dream. money is to fund our journey to that dream and a career is to occupy our time by doing something we like. most importantly, happiness is the crucial ingredient to THE life. that's why we use a lot of brain cells figuring out how to achieve that and how to manage all our relationships well. it's true that we are all after love. i can imagine it's the same for the muggers, the workaholics even the old and the sick. it's love that motivates all of us to move on with our life. it doesnt have to come from a desired partner. even if it is a friend or a family member, these relationships count a lot and are already quite a challenge to maintain. somehow, these are the ones that we always take for granted. i am glad that i have my family and friends to stick around through the tough times. it made me appreciate life and learn a lot. i am glad for the way things have turned out. some things happen for a reason. fancy me bringing it up again after oh sooo many years.

listening to: almost, bowling for soup

each footstep is a new love letter ♥
